According to the National Institutes of Health, there are 13 vitamins that are essential to our development, function and growth.

Most people have a basic awareness of these, but have no idea that there are also 13 essential vitamins for personal success!

Did you know there are 13 essential vitamins for personal success?

Did you know there are 13 essential vitamins for personal success?

An Overview of Essential Vitamins

The essential vitamins are:

  1. A, or retinol, is good for your eyes. It prevents night blindness, helps you adjust to interior lighting when coming in from outdoors, and helps prevent cataracts.
  2. B1, or thiamine, converts blood sugar into energy and aids in metabolism.
  3. B2, or riboflavin, also aids in metabolism; breaking down carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It also doubles as an antioxidant and anti-carcinogen.
  4. B3, or niacin, helps lower bad cholesterol and decrease heart disease.
  5. B6, or pyridoxamine, helps maintain healthy nerve and brain function and aids in the formation of red blood cells.
  6. B12, or cobalamin, aids in regulating the nervous system, and protects against high blood pressure, strokes and various cancers.
  7. C, or ascorbic acid, strengthens the immune system and increases blood flow to the eyes, helping to prevent cataracts.
  8. D, or calciferol, helps fight germs, as well as strengthening bones and muscles.
  9. E, or tocopherol, helps prevent cancer, dementia and heart disease.
  10. K, or ketamine, helps build strong, healthy bones and helps protect the heart.
  11. H (also called vitamin B7,) or biotin, helps process blood sugar and is necessary for cell growth.
  12. Folate, is found naturally in foods. Synthetic vitamin B9, or folic acid, plays an important role in emotional stability and mental wellness.
  13. Pantothenic acid, a.k.a. vitamin B5, help heal wounds and lower bad cholesterol.

Interestingly, vitamin B4, not listed in the 13 essential elements is known as adenine.

It is a key element of DNA and RNA and increases the production of energy in our bodies.

Vitamins, minerals and supplements are necessary to maintain our physical health.

There are detractors to this statement. In fact, there is heated debate on both sides as to the efficacy of vitamins.

WebMD published a report advising people not to waste their money on vitamins.

As it is not the intent of this post, I will not be weighing in on this debate.

You must decide for yourself whatever you think is right for you.

13 Essential Vitamins For Personal Success

Obviously, the above vitamins listed above are not specifically related to personal success.

So what ones are? Where do you find them?

Let’s answer the latter question first.

Here’s a hint: You cannot purchase these vitamins anywhere. They are cultivated from within.

Here are *13 essential vitamins for spiritual health and personal success:

  1. B1. Whenever you need to be the voice of reason, be accountable, be authentic, this vitamin fortifies the change agent. If you wish to be a great example for others to follow, simply B1 (be one.)
  2. C1, also known as COMMITMENT is sold under trade names Allegiance, Dedication and Elbow Grease. The generic name is Vitamin W, known as Wholeheartedness. This vitamin boosts morale, fortifies faithfulness, and lengthens loyalty. Clinical trials indicate it has a direct bearing on increased productivity.
  3. C2, or Courage Cultivator, strengthens you to make bold decisions, to face challenges head on. It helps you make decisions based in love, not in fear.
  4. K, or Kindness, is a prime motivator. You understand that a soft answer turns away wrath, that leading from the heart Β is deep wisdom.
  5. H, or Humor, when taken in healthy doses, works wonders on alleviating stress and melting tension. It is most reliable when taken at random.
  6. P1, or PRAYER, is often marketed as generic Vitamin M, or meditation. High concentrations of pure prayer and mindful meditation fortify your spirit.
  7. P2, or Presence, augments alertness, balances behavior and sustains self-composure. It helps one to remain in the moment, to not be distracted by past concerns or future worries.
  8. S2, SUPPORT SYSTEM, enhances overall health of personal relationships. It is known to cohere family, friends and colleagues. It is even known to work well with acquaintances in raising rapport and fostering friendships.
  9. A. This is the first of the complex vowel vitamins. Vitamin A, or AUTHENTICITY, establishes credibility, increases reliability and trustworthiness. Like truth serum, this vitamin serves to keep you real.
  10. E, or EMPATHY, works well to enhance Vitamin K. It is known to increase intellectual identification with others, providing awareness and understanding of their attitudes, feelings and thoughts.
  11. I, or INTUITION, helps you play your hunches as fine as a detective solving a tough case. Works phenomenal with vitamin C2 and leads to great outcomes.
  12. O, or OUTLOOK, is also known as the generic Vitamin V, or VISION. It sharpens mental acuity and helps maintain laser focus on your goals. Don’t leave home without it.
  13. U, is UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. It acts as fabric softener on the soul, and strengthens ones resolve to BE LOVE TO OTHERS, regardless of race, religion, or riches.

NOTE: Efficacy is ensured with proper dosage.

  • High rates of morale.
  • Huge spikes in productivity.
  • Prevents cognitive decline.
  • Really ideal for really ideal people. πŸ™‚

*The above list is an arbitrary convention to illustrate a point.
We each have the capacity within us for greater understanding and the ability to be better.

  3. Hi Bill
I enjoyed the way you took the idea of vitamins being good for health and then listed vitamins we need for personal – and spiritual – success. What an interesting concept. I really couldn’t choose just one, I think a daily dose of all would work wonders.

Really, really good read, Bill. As we need vitamins for our body, so do we need attitudinal, character-related vitamins for entire person which includes the spirit and the soul in addition to the body.

Who wouldn’t want to enjoy the side effects of the enlisted vitamins? I sure want to!

    • Greetings Bidur,
Nice to hear from you again. Glad you enjoyed this article. Thanks so much for adding your thoughts and words of encouragement.
We definitely need to look after ourselves at every level. Considering that we have a mind, body and spirit, these vitamins are essential.

      All the best!

  6. One of the most ingenious posts ever! While traditional medicine and homeopaths may be arguing over the validity of vitamins for the body, but I’d have to wonder about anyone who could refute these essential vitamins for the soul. Brilliant!

  7. I love this Bill! I can’t even pick one that’s my favorite because they’re all great. I guess, as with food and nutrients, you need to keep adding in all the good stuff to keep feeling good. Thanks for being my daily dose today!

Vitamins for the body will only get you so far. It has been my experience that when we think great thoughts, we feel great.

      Kind Regards,

  8. Empathy intuition and outlook are my top three – outlook being the top one. Having a positive attitude makes the difference between a good day and a bad one. Rose Kennedy said, “it’s not what happens to you in life that’s important but how you deal with it” I couldn’t agree more. Good post William & an interesting take on the norm.

Thanks for your comments. You’re spot on. Thanks for the Rose Kennedy quote. A positive attitude works wonders. I came this one: Mahalia Jackson said, “Faith and prayer are the vitamins of the soul; man cannot live in health without them.” Glad you like the post. Have a great week!

  9. I so enjoyed your correlation between vitamins for good health, and how they can relate to our personal and spiritual life. I can relate everyone one of them. I like them so much I’ve printed them off to review when I need a reminder of what it is I need to “take” to help me move forward.

For me, my biggest challenge of late is to find a balance and recharge my batteries. πŸ™‚

  10. Hi Bill,

Good to see you back. Only you can write a post as effective as this one! I just love the way you use words.

I would have to say my favorites are: E: EMPATHY, because we need to identify with others thoughts, feelings and be aware of what they need.

Another is C1 because COMMITMENT is powerful. We become loyal, and trustworthy.

All the rest are great, but these two particular ones stood out to me.

    Excellent post!

The better we understand others, the better we understand ourselves… I think we are all mirrors in that regard. Where would any of us be in life
without a vitamin C1? Promises made are just as easily broken, but never when one is truly committed to a cause or worthy purpose.
      Have a splendid week!

  11. Bill,

Gee, thanks! I love tapping into the flow of creativity. So glad you like this article. Where do you buy C2? Like many natural vitamins the body produces, this one comes when we are not hesitant, when we intentionally place ourselves in the path of things we fear, when we confront issues more important than the fear of addressing them. πŸ™‚ Have a beautiful week!

  13. Great post, Bill.

One very important thing that some people seem to ignore is that while vitamins are not medicine they are not to be taken lightly either.

A friend of mine got in serious health trouble because of vitamins he was taking irresponsibly. It was pretty bad and he could have died all because of vitamins he was taking before going to bed as if he had lost his mind. So, it’s always good to use vitamins responsibly.

    • Hi Sylviane,
Yes, I know that some vitamins interfere with some prescribed medicines. As the old adage goes, everything in moderation.
Just as responsible is the need to look after all facets of our being, emotional and spiritual health as well as physical.
      Enjoy your week!

  14. I have never even heard of some of these vitamins Bill but am all for unconditional love, empathy, and intuition. With our food becoming less fortified by mother nature and more by Monsanto and the like it would seem that a regime of these for all is likely the way of the future.
    Tim recently posted…GratefulMy Profile

    • Hi Tim,
The vitamin list was an arbitrary convention as indicated by the asterisk. πŸ˜‰
I especially resonate with the ones you’ve mentioned. I hope more people give this concept consideration, as our wellbeing in all areas of our life is important. In replying to you here, I’m thinking once again about those words your Mom said to you. Priceless!!

      Kind Regards,

  15. Hi Bill,

I was missing your innovative way of playing with words! Hope you had a nice break!

The essential vitamins for health and growth are provided naturally to us, so we don’t bother much about them and many of us are not even aware of them. The real vitamins that contribute to our personal, social, financial and eventually spiritual growth are: Adaptability, Benevolence, Compassion, Dedication, Empathy, Faith, Generosity, Harmony, Imagination, judiciousness, Knowledge, Loyalty and love…I wouldn’t go further as an overdose too has its side effects!

No doubt they need to be imbibed and cultivated carefully to derive all the benefits.
Thanks for a fantastic display of words and weaving them to bring harmony. Loved it.

    • Hi Balroop,
I think we all need a breather once in awhile. I was certainly glad for the opportunity to honor personal commitments.
Thank you for the additional spiritual vitamins and for your words of support. You are a generous and kind soul.

Aw, thanks so much. I think that giving attention to our spiritual needs is just as important as the physical. More than than, physical vitamins get depleted. Spiritual vitamins build on one another. Have an excellent week!

  18. It goes without saying that is this quite clever πŸ™‚ I have the top list covered for sure with my daily multi-vitamin, but where would one place fish oil? As always, perfecting the second list is always a work in progress, but I’m about to start meditating, which I am sure will be an adventure all of its own.
Jeri recently posted…#AuthorInterview: Melissa ReyesMy Profile

    • Hi Jeri,
Some people take fish oil with vitamins D, D3 or E. A good piece of salmon will provide you with a healthy amount of essential fatty acids.
Yes, the personal success list will always be dynamic and fluctuate as we learn and grow. We can all seek the best possible outcomes.
I wish you well in your meditations. Blessings of peace!

  19. That’s what I call a Healthy post! By bringing this post you showed how much you care for your readers.

I would like to add something about Vit. D. Always go through the vit. D check ups because constant deficiency of this particular Vit. can cause Type 1 diabetes in young kids.

As I have got type 1 diabetes at the age of 25 I have been reading a lot about it and read this at many places. Thought to share with you all here.

    • Hi Welli,
Thanks for your honesty with your needs. I envision a world that is more peace, harmonious and considerate. I think it can be accomplished through more empathy. Where vitamin S2 is concerned, even acquaintances can be that for one another. If I can lend support to you, send me an Email. As for commitment, I think the depth of our desire and determination fuels our level of commitment. We don’t need to be perfectionist to be a high achiever, but I think we need to cultivate excellence. Enjoy the week ahead!
